Benefits
Eligible employees enjoy these benefits:
PAID HOLIDAYS: MHC gives full-time employees 11 paid holidays each year.
VACATION LEAVE: Employees’ paid vacation time increases with years of service.
SICK LEAVE: Paid sick leave accumulates at 12 days per year and can be carried over from year to year.
HEALTH and DENTALS BENEFITS: MHC offers a choice of health insurance plans. Both include dental benefits, individual and family coverage options, and prescription cards.
LIFE INSURANCE: We provide term life insurance. Supplemental life insurance is available for individual or family coverage.
WORKER COMPENSATION: This agency-paid benefit covers on-the-job injury.
PENSION PLAN: MHC provides and funds retirement benefits, based on salary and years of credited service. Benefits are fully vested after three years.
403B PLAN: Employees can contribute to a tax-deferred annuity plan; MHC matches a portion of the contributed funds.
FLEX PLAN: MHC provides an optional salary deduction that allows employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for non-covered medical, dental, vision, or child care expenses.
ACCESS to CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP: A number of services are available through credit union membership.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: This agency-paid benefit provides easy access to confidential, professional counseling for employees and their families. Provided through Value Behavioral Health Systems.
LONGEVITY-BASED SABBATICAL PROGRAM: MHC rewards employees who remain with the agency with time off to renew themselves.

Orientation and training
Everyone who comes to work at Methodist Home for Children receives training that will help them do their jobs well. Everyone who comes to work at Methodist Home for Children receives training that will help them do their jobs well. In addition to a general orientation to our values and our model of care, our training department provides job-specific training, which may include topics such as Adolescent Development and Sexuality, Diet and Health, Professionalism, and Protecting Youth Rights. We also provide ongoing training and opportunities for continuing education and advancement.
