The Jordan Center serves children regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic situation, as well
as children with special needs. We strive to reserve one third of our spaces for children with specific
developmental or emotional needs.
Teacher qualifications
Each age-level pod is led by a coordinator who holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education
with a birth to kindergarten license from the Department of Public Instruction. Lead teachers hold a
minimum of an associate's degree in child development or early childhood education. Teachers and assistants
have or are working toward their early childhood credentials.
Approach to care
Teachers create loving and nurturing environments, helping children learn through play, and providing
them with many opportunities to explore their environment and make independent discoveries.
Family involvement
We serve children and their families, providing support and encouragement, acknowledging and building
upon strengths, and celebrating individuals' worth. Our open door policy provides many opportunities
for parental involvement.
Tuition
We have designed our fee structure to meet the demand for quality childcare, and to ensure that children
from all walks of life have access to our programs. Methodist Home for Children has an established
endowment to provide a limited number of scholarships. For more information, please contact the Jordan
Center director or administrative coordinator at 919.833.5428.
