Methodist Connections
The North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church plays a critical role in
Methodist
Home for Children's history. What began as a Methodist-inspired mission to care for North Carolina's
orphans has grown through the years to serve the changing needs of all of society's children and
families, regardless of their religion, race, or economic status.
While we are related by history and by faith to the United Methodist Church, our independent
nonprofit organization is responsible for its own debts and obligations.
We are extremely grateful to the NC Conference and to local churches and church groups for their
ongoing support.
MHC Sunday is an annual opportunity for local churches to invite an MHC representative to speak to their congregations
and support our services through a special offering. These donations help MHC recruit and support foster and adoptive
parents and help to clothe, feed and provide for the children in our care.
