Buie family

81 kids – and still smiling

In 25 years of fostering with Methodist Home for Children, Linda and Michael Buie have parented 81 children. The youngest was 3 days old when he came to them; the oldest was 20 when she left them. Two of them, were adopted: Elizabeth, 33, and DeCarlo, 25.

They’ve provided every kind of foster care service we offer. Traditional, respite, therapeutic – and now, rapid response, offering short-term care for children in crisis as they move to foster homes, group homes, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, or guardians.

They do it with love, support, and teaching. They do it without judgment. They do it to help all children see and reach for their full potential.

It is Awesome what y’all do to help children. Great work! My son is handicapped and is currently living in an AFL. I can only hope that his experience will be as good a memory to him as are those memories of those children y’all helped.

Foster parents and adoptive parents are my heroes. The number of children you have impacted is incredible. What amazing love and devotion to caring for children who lives would have been so different had it not been for you. Your story is so uplifting.
