Methodist Home for Children runs three Crisis & Assessment Centers in partnership with the state’s Department of Public Safety. Locations are in Butner, Asheville, and Winston-Salem.

Meet our youth and staff

Crisis & Assessment Centers serve youth, ages 10 to 17, with histories of mental illness, neglect, trauma, or substance abuse. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay 30 to 60 days for comprehensive testing and observation; they leave with a plan of care and referrals for specific services in their home community.
