Meet the kids!

Lola, age 5
Adopted by Eriq as a baby, 18 months before the others arrived, Lola is strong and competitive – and, because she once had Eriq to herself, she likes to be No. 1 in the household. She loves sports – football, tree climbing, basketball, soccer.

Honey, age 4
Like Lola, Honey was a newborn when she came to Eriq. And even though she’s the baby of the group, “she’s the head honcho,” Eriq laughs. She’s tall for her age, so people think she’s older than she is. But she plays the baby card when it works to her advantage. “That’s my little love bug.”

Cam, age 12
Because she’s known Eriq the longest – as brother – Cam had the biggest adjustment to make. But she’s great, he says; she’s the mama of the group. “She’s my big helper, and she makes sure everybody does what they’re supposed to do.” She’s learning to cook; spaghetti is her specialty. And, like Lola, she loves sports – volleyball and soccer.

Koko, age 7
In a family of strong girls, Koko is one more who likes to be in charge. She’s all about integrity, Eriq says, and “doing what Daddy says you’re supposed to do, the way it’s supposed to be done.” She likes dance, music, and art – “the glittery stuff.”

AJ, age 8
The only boy, AJ is the quiet one. He likes to play with Koko, but he also appreciates his alone time. He can spend hours watching other kids play video games on YouTube. And he’s happy a boy his age finally moved into the neighborhood. Like Koko, he enjoys art – drawing with pastels or modeling with clay.
